Gurney in Chevy Chase
127 QUINCY ST, CHEVY CHASE, MD, 20815
Coming This Spring
The Peterson House is another fine example of the award-winning work from DC architect Robert Gurney, FAIA. A charming 1940’s home in Chevy Chase, MD., was completely renovated in collaboration with then owner Ted Peterson, Peterson + Collins, one of our regions most respected builders, creating a new interpretation that is most conventional, with stunning modern finishes. The home has doubled its original square footage, tastefully, with consideration to the scale of the neighborhood. Every space was reimagined, including the exterior designed by Lila Fendrick Landscape Design, with beautiful hardscaping, lighting, an extended patio, and the gorgeous stone shed that doubles as a pleasing privacy wall. Every bedroom in the home has en-suite facilities, and the master suite is a true departure from the home, bathing residence in natural light. The main level is configured with a large foyer, entered through a dramatic mahogany door, to a formal dining room with beechwood built-in shelving that continues through the incredible kitchen, before ultimately opening into the stunning living room with raised ceilings, fireplace, and gorgeous exposures to the backyard. The basement is fully finished with a full bathroom, family room, and generous recreation/fitness room.
A thoughtfully designed home, perfectly executed. The professionals agree, the home has received multiple design awards and featured in several national magazines. It is a most exciting example of a modern interpretation of a classic Washingtonian home.
